Winners from Cebu, QC claim lotto prizes

Meanwhile, two bettors, one from Cebu City and a housewife from Cubao, Quezon City, who split the jackpot of P82,139,803.60 in the Lotto 6/42 drawn on April 18, 2023 have claimed their prizes at the main office of the PCSO in Mandaluyong City.

Both winners won through lucky pick with a winning combination 42-21-01-36-23-37.

The lottery winner from Cebu City purchased his ticket worth PHP40 from a lotto outlet near the Cebu South Bus Station.

After regularly playing the lotto for nearly three decades, he finally reaped the rewards of his staunch support for the PCSO games.

"May mga pagkakataong tumatama ako pero three to four digits lang. Noon pa man naniniwala na talaga ako na totoo po ang lotto at bukod doon, alam ko rin po na sa charity napupunta ang parte ng nagiging benta nila. Sa mga patuloy na tumataya, wag po tayong mawalan ng pag-asa. Ibibigay po ni Lord kung para sa atin talaga (There were times that I have been able to guess only three to four digits. I've always believed that the lottery is real and besides that, I also know that part of their sales goes to charity. For those who keep betting, let's not lose hope. The Lord will give if it is really for us),” he said.

He also said his winnings would be dedicated to various investments and start-ups.

The other winner, a 46-year-old housewife from Quezon City, has been an occasional player for a decade.

During an interview, she stated that she was still undecided on what to do with the prize money, as it was a significant amount. However, she plans to set aside some savings and wants to make the best use of it as she considers it a blessing from God.

She also advised other lotto enthusiasts to continue playing the lotto,

The winners claimed their prizes on May 8 and 9 at the PCSO main office in Mandaluyong.

Meanwhile, the PCSO reported that it has released PHP30.8 million in medical assistance to a total of 4,828 eligible beneficiaries nationwide from May 29 to June 2.

Citing its latest data, the state lottery agency said in a statement the funds were released to beneficiaries through its Medical Access Program (MAP).

The beneficiaries include 479 indigents from the National Capital Region who received PHP5.6 million worth of assistance; 1,176 from Northern and Central Luzon who were given PHP8.4 million; and 1,438 from the Southern Tagalog and Bicol Region who received PHP6.4 million.

In the Visayas, 915 individuals were provided with PHP5.4 million in medical aid while 820 in Mindanao received PHP4.9 million.

The MAP, formerly known as the Individual Medical Assistance Program, augments medical assistance for indigent Filipinos, particularly for hospital confinement, chemotherapy, dialysis and post-transplant medicines.

PCSO general manager Melquiades Robles urged the public to support the agency’s gaming products in order to raise additional revenue for health initiatives, medical services, and other national charities.

Through its mandatory contributions, the PCSO not only helps individuals in need of medical assistance but also provides funds to government institutions. (PNA)
