MANILA – The Archdiocese of Lipa will host its second "Caritas Bike for Kalikasan" on Saturday.

In a social media post on Tuesday, the Archdiocese of Manila Office of Communications said the event organized by the Caritas Philippines and Lipa Archdiocesan Ministry on Environment (AMEn), aims to foster engagement between partners, stakeholders and communities to promote ecological transformation.

This year’s route would be from the Montemaria Pilgrimage Center in Ilijan town to the Lagadlarin Mangrove Forest Park Bikers in Lobo town.

The event also coincides with the Season of Creation observed by the Catholic Church from Sept. 1 to Oct. 4, aimed at promoting environmental protection.

October 4 also marks the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of ecology.

“Caritas Bike for Kalikasan” was first organized last October 2022 where participants rode their bikes from Manila Cathedral in Intramuros, Manila to La Mesa Dam Nature Reserve Park in Quezon City. (PNA)
