MANILA – Manila Archbishop Cardinal Jose Advincula and Papal Nuncio to the Philippines Archbishop Charles John Brown will celebrate a Mass to commemorate the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception at the Manila Cathedral in Intramuros, Manila on Friday.

In a social media post Thursday, the Minor Basilica and Metropolitan Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception announced that the Mass would be held at 12:10 p.m.

It added that four other Masses will be held, with the last Mass to be celebrated by Manila Cathedral Rector Msgr. Rolando dela Cruz at 6 p.m.

Other Fiesta Day Masses are set at 8 a.m. to be headed by Fr. Carlo Magno Marcelo, 10 a.m. by Msgr. Pedro Gerardo Santos and 4 p.m. with Fr. Vicente Gabriel Bautista.

The minor basilica said those attending the Fiesta Masses will be getting a fiesta gift.

"Everyone will receive this new estampita (small portrait or print of a saint) on every Mass on December 8, Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary," it added.

Dec. 8 is a special non-working holiday under Republic Act 10966, to commemorate the Feast of the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, the Patroness of the Manila Cathedral and of the Philippines. (PNA)
