MANILA – The Commission on Human Rights (CHR) has expressed "deep concern" over an attack against barangay safety officers and a police officer in Quezon City.

Reports said a man went on a stabbing spree on April 10 in Barangay Payatas A in Quezon City, killing a barangay safety officer and injuring three others, including a police officer.

"Such actions jeopardize not only the safety and well-being of those who serve, but also the overall peace and security of the community," the CHR said in a statement.

"We remind everyone to adhere to the principles of human rights articulated in the Philippine 1987 Constitution, which states that every individual has the right to life, liberty, and security without discrimination of any kind," it added.

The CHR urged relevant agencies to "swiftly administer the case and hold the perpetrator accountable. (PNA)
