COTABATO CITY – Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-BARMM) arrested two drug peddlers and seized from them PHP6.8 million worth of “shabu” during a drug buy-bust in Marawi City over the weekend.

“Backed by police and Army counterparts, PDEA agents immediately arrested the two after they handed over a kilo of the illegal stuff to a poseur buyer,” PDEA-BARMM Director Gil Cesario Castro said in a report on Monday.

Castro identified the suspects arrested during the 3 p.m. operation on Saturday in Barangay Saduc, Marawi City, as Abdu Batugan and Panarigan Radia, both of Lumbayanague town in Lanao del Sur.

Also seized from the suspects were the boodle money, mobile phone and different identification cards.

The duo is now detained at the PDEA-BARMM jail facility in this city while awaiting an inquest proceeding for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
