ILOILO CITY – A three-day bazaar that will provide a venue for market linkages and exposure of products coming from the third district of Iloilo province is set for May 13-15, hosted by the local government of Lambunao and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) - Iloilo.

“Our intention is to support the marketing activities of our MSMEs (micro, small and medium enterprises) through market linkages and exposure within the third district municipalities,” Lambunao Negosyo Center senior business counselor Daisy Joy Darroca said in an interview on Friday.

About 45 MSMEs from the municipalities of Pototan, Cabatuan, Janiuay, Calinog, Maasin, Mina, Badiangan, Bingawan, and the host town will showcase their products during the event.

Products include wearable and home styles, processed foods, and other livelihood projects supported by the DTI, projecting an income of PHP300,000 from the three-day event.

The first time the bazaar was held in the town of Cabatuan in 2022, its participants generated an income of PHP200,000.

On the second and third days, the event will be tied up with a Diskwento Caravan where distributors of hardware and basic commodities will offer products at a lower price.

Alongside the bazaar, the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion (LEDIP) office will also hold its “Wow Lambunao Nights.”

“The Wow Lambunao Nights activity has been the municipality’s commitment in conducting post-economic recovery involving MSMEs and local farmers to display and highlight local products and tickle local tourism,” Darroca said.

Side events will also be held, such as advocacy and seminars by the DTI and other government offices and private agencies for MSMEs and potential entrepreneurs. (PNA)
