Global Media Congress: Shaping the Future of the Media Industry
Share
Aptly themed “Shaping the Future of the Media Industry," this year’s Global Media Congress will be held in Abu Dhabi from Nov. 15 to 17, 2022.
The international event, organized by the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) and the Emirates News Agency (WAM), one of the partner agencies of the Philippine News Agency, offers a platform to share new ideas and cutting-edge solutions that could shape the future of the industry.
Organizers said the Global Media Congress “has been carefully curated to facilitate critical knowledge exchange and present opportunities for media professionals.”
The upcoming event will bring over 150 leading brands from across the globe, giving participants access to the best products, services, and technology that caters to every sector of the media industry.
Media is and always has been one of the most powerful tools of communication in any country, in the developing ones and those that had already achieved first-world status.
The continuing developments in technology also bring about non-stop evolution in the media industry. When Marshall McLuhan coined the phrase “global village” in his book 40 years ago, he may already have foreseen how interconnected and smaller the world would become through the media, aided by modern technology.
With November fast approaching, the PNA expresses its gratitude to WAM and the UAE government for the opportunity to join the Congress which will afford media practitioners, especially those from less developed countries, an opportunity to keep pace with the latest techniques, equipment, and practices in the industry.
Coming from one of the developing countries, PNA's participation at the Global Media Congress would definitely provide its personnel with important updates and open more opportunities to make it more efficient in carrying out its mandate — to provide factual and credible news service to both local and foreign readers.
