DAVAO CITY – Singapore-based Michael “Hot and Spicy” Dasmarinas will fight Kenny “Big Heart” Demecillo of Cebu on March 23 at the Resorts World Hotel in Pasay City.

The winner in the highly-touted non-title fight will emerge as likely challenger to the International Boxing Federation belts in the 118-pound division.

Dasmarinas had earlier knocked out Karim Guerfi in the 4th round to win the International Boxing Organization World bantamweight title on April 20, 2018 in Singapore. His first exposure in Singapore was a technical knockout (TKO) win over Wrawatchai Boonjan in Round 2 on Oct. 20, 2017 at the Suntec International Convention Center.

He also won the WBC Youth world super flyweight title over Jhaleel Payao by unanimous decision last July 11, 2015 at Mandaluyong City. He successfully defended it against Yuenyong Aunnawetwanit by a knockout in the 1st round in China last Nov. 3, 2015.

Dasmarinas then won the interim Philippine Boxing Federation super flyweight title by retiring Edison Berwela in Round 3 at San Fernando City last March 7, 2016.

On April 29, 2016, he won the vacant PBF bantamweight title by a TKO over the 4th round on Jecker Buhawe in Muntinlupa City.

Demecillo, on the other hand, (14W-4L-2D, 8KO) knocked out Vyacheslav Mirzaev in the 5th round in Anapa, Russia last March 17, 2018.

Demecillo earlier won the interim WBA Oceania bantamweight title over Daryl Basadre by TKO over the 2nd round last Robinson’s Mall in Gen. Santos City on July 26, 2015. He won again in their vacant WBF Asia Pacific bantamweight by a TKO in the 8th round last Sept. 26, 2015.

Demecillo then defended the WBF Asia Pacific title over Eugene Lagos by a split decision in Cebu last July 30, 2016. He then beat Jestoni Autilda by a unanimous decision to win the vacant WBF Intercontinental bantamweight title last Dec. 2, 2016.

But Demecillo lost to Mark Anthony Geraldo by UD in their battle for the vacant WBO Oriental bantamweight title in Hong Kong last March 11, 2017.
