‘Jaw Breaker’ Noynay to challenge Saka for featherweight crown

DAVAO CITY -- Joe “Jaw Breaker” Noynay of Cebu will fight Kosuke Saka of Japan for the vacant World Boxing Organization (WBO) Asia Pacific super pacific title on April 20 at the Edion Arena in Osaka, Japan.

The 23-year old Noynay (16W-2L-1D, 5KO) retained his WBO Asia Pacific Youth super featherweight title by a TKO over Qixiu Zhang of China in September last year at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City.

Noynay has beaten Junny Salogaol of Cebu by a unanimous decision on Dec. 9, 2018, at the Elorde Sports Complex in Paranaque City.

Noynay won the WBO Asia Pacific Youth super featherweight and vacant WBC Asian Boxing Council Silver super featherweight titles by a technical decision in the 8th round over Jinxiang Pan of China on Dec. 16, 2017.

The 27-year-old Saka (18W-4L-0D, 15KO) knocked out Indonesian Gusti Elnino in the second round last July 27, 2018 in Edion Arena.
