‘Smasher’ Mama to fight Thai boxer in non-title bout

DAVAO CITY – Undefeated Jayson “Smasher” Mama of General Santos City will fight Ekkawit “Chor Nor” Songnui of Thailand in a non-title bout on June 9 in Manila.

The 22-year-old Mama who has a record of 12 wins and 6 knockouts, last won on March 28 in Beijing against Teeraphong Utaida of Thailand by a unanimous decision.

Mama was successful against Michael Camelion in the 9th round to win the vacant WBO Oriental Youth flyweight on last Jan. 21, 2018 in GenSan.

He also scored against Wiljan Ugbaniel of Sarangani on June 27, 2018, and a unanimous decision over Yinhuan Su of China in Macao on Aug. 5, 2018.

Songnui (49W-6L-1D, 26KO) won against Mongkol Kaokrue in a unanimous decision in Bangkok on May 9.

The 36-year-old Songnui lost by knockout to Masahito Sakamoto of Japan in the vacant WBO Asia Pacific flyweight title on Dec. 3, 2017, in Osaka, Japan. (PNA)
