CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan — The province’s top fugitive was arrested Thursday following a manhunt operation conducted by the Provincial Intelligence Branch (PBI).

Police Colonel Chito G. Bersaluna said on Friday that Jackiery Perete, 39, a security guard, was nabbed by operatives of the PIB led by Lt. Colonel Arwin Tadeo at Intercity Industrial Estate, Barangay Wakas, Bocaue town.

“Perete is the No. 1 most wanted person, provincial level, under 'Sibat Target' of Bulacan Police Provincial Office,” Bersaluna said.

The suspect was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest for the crime of rape with no bail recommended.

"The arrested most wanted person is presently under the custody of Bulacan PIB and will be presented to the issuing court," Bersaluna added.

Meanwhile, three drug peddlers were arrested while selling shabu to a police poseur buyer also on Thursday.

Joselito Gallano and Raul Garcia Roxas were nabbed by elements of the Bocaue police, while Crisanto Villanueva, who is included in the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC) watch list of San Rafael Municipal Police Station, was collared by authorities in that town.

Seized from the three were a total of nine plastic sachets of shabu and buy-bust money.

The arrested suspects are now awaiting the formal filing of criminal charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), while the seized pieces of evidence were brought to the Bulacan Crime Laboratory Office for examination.  (PNA)
