CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – At least 234 personnel of the Police Regional Office-3 (Central Luzon) on Monday started training on internal security operations to hone their efficiency and competence as law enforcement officers.

The 60-day rigid training on Basic Internal Security Operations Course (BISOC) is being conducted by the Regional Learning and Doctrine Development Division (RLDDD) personnel, under Police Lt. Colonel Nixon Cayaban, who are equipped and well-trained in different tactics and strategies in combat operations.

Brig. Gen. Joel Napoleon Coronel, PRO-3 regional director, said the rigidity of BISOC training will enable the police officers to fight insurgency and criminality, as well as defend and protect the communities, particularly villages in rural areas that are prone to lawless elements and threat groups.

"Ako ay nagagalak sapagkat nagkaroon na naman tayo ng ganitong pagsasanay na lilinang ng inyong mga kakayahan bilang mga miyembro ng ating Public Safety Forces, lalo na ngayon na kabi-kabila na naman ang nangyayaring karahasan hindi lamang sa ating rehiyon kundi maging sa buong bansa (I am happy because we have this kind of training that will hone your capabalities as members of the public safety forces especially now that there is some violence that happening not only in our region but in the whole country),” Coronel said in his message delivered during the opening ceremony held at the PRO-3 Parade Ground here.

BISOC is one of the most rigid trainings for rookie police personnel in the country. It is designed to equip them with the knowledge, attitude, skills, and values that make them more capable and skilled once they get assigned to the public safety forces.

During the two-month training, the policemen will undergo rope courses, close quarter battle (CQB), first aid, immediate action drill (IAD), water/seaborne tactics, terrain modeling, survival, field training exercises, and community immersion.

“I encourage you to absorb the training well, so that you can make Central Luzon safe and secured from the threats of insurgency, terrorism and criminality,” Coronel said. (PNA)
