MANILA — With the continuing slowdown in travel demand due to rising concerns on coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), Asiana Airlines has announced the suspension of a number of flights between the Philippines and South Korea, from March 22 until April 26.
In an advisory, the carrier announced that its Manila-Incheon-Manila routes are suspended from March 22 until April 13.
Its Clark-Incheon flights will be suspended from March 24 to April 14, while its Incheon-Clark route is suspended from March 23 to April 13.
Cebu-Incheon flights will be suspended from March 24 to April 26, while Incheon-Cebu flights are suspended from March 23 to April 25.
Waiver of refund fee and first rebooking fee applies to all affected flights.
Rebooking, however, is subject to fare difference, seat availability and ticket validity.
Meanwhile, the Philippine government has announced a temporary travel ban on foreigners entering the country starting 12 a.m. of March 22.
Only overseas Filipino workers, repatriated Filipinos (OFWs), their foreign spouses and children (provided that the foreign spouse and children are traveling with the Filipino national), and foreign government or international organization officials accredited by the Philippines will be allowed to enter the country.
OFWs, foreign nationals leaving for abroad through any ports in Luzon are allowed at any time during the enhanced community quarantine, provided that proof of international travel itinerary scheduled within 24 hours is presented.
As of Sunday, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the country rose to 380. (PNA)
