MANILA – Fair weather will prevail across the country despite the looming entry of Typhoon “Haishen” to the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Friday, a weather specialist said.

Ezra Bulquerin of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Haishen, which was last tracked 1,440 km. east of Basco, Batanes, will be given the local name, "Kristine", once it enters PAR.

"This will not have a significant effect on any part of the country, and we will continue to experience fair weather," he said.

Haishen, the 10th cyclone of the Pacific typhoon season, is unlikely to hit the Philippines' landmass and is expected to move toward southwestern Japan and the Korean Peninsula, which were earlier hit by Typhoon “Maysak”.

Parts of the country may only experience isolated rain showers, he added.

Light to moderate winds, slight to moderate seas will prevail over the whole country, PAGASA said. (PNA)
