MANILA – The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said 5,247 families or 24,032 individuals in Regions 2 (Cagayan Valley) and 4A (Calabarzon) have so far been affected by Tropical Storm "Pepito" as of Wednesday night.
NDRRMC spokesperson Mark Cashean Timbal, in a message to reporters, said this is based on "preliminary reports" and still subject to validation with their local counterparts.
"We have a computed total of affected families of 5,247 (equivalent to) 24,032 individuals across Regions 2 and Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, and Quezon)," he added.
Affected families in Region 2 can be broken down into the following:
Cagayan, 115 families which is equivalent to 410 persons; Isabela, 291 families or 1,108 individuals; Nueva Vizcaya, five families equivalent to 16 persons; Quirino, 16 families or 142 individuals.
Timbal said that for Region 4A, affected families were placed at 4,790 families or around 22,456 individuals.
"Figures may change while updates come in. So far, there is still no report of fatalities, injuries, or missing persons. We are hoping (that we will have) zero casualty for Tropical Storm 'Pepito'," he added. (PNA)
