4.4K Caraga health workers to receive Sinovac jabs

BUTUAN CITY – At least 4,467 health workers in the Caraga Region will receive Sinovac vaccines during the first rollout of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccination in the area.

“The health workers are employees from 11 priority private and public hospitals in the region,” the Department of Health in Caraga (DOH-13) said in a statement Tuesday.

In Agusan del Norte, a total of 1,536 health workers from public and health facilities will receive the vaccines.

The number includes the 378 health workers from the Agusan del Norte Provincial Hospital, 326 from Butuan Medical Center, 274 from Manuel J. Santos Hospital, and 558 from Butuan Doctors Hospital.

In Agusan del Sur, 438 health workers from D.O Plaza Memorial Hospital and 122 from San Francisco Doctors Hospital are also set for inoculation.

Meanwhile, DOH-13 said at least 941 health workers from the Caraga Regional Hospital in Surigao City and 245 from Surigao del Norte Provincial Hospital would also be prioritized for vaccination.

In Surigao del Sur, the agency targets 872 health workers at the Adela Serra Ty Memorial Hospital in Tandag City, 155 from Andres Soriano Memorial Hospital Cooperative in Bislig City, and 158 from Bislig District Hospital.

During the meeting on Tuesday, the health agency also presented the Health Assessment Algorithm for Sinovac, which contains health issues the patients might have and the corresponding actions vaccinators must do. (PNA)
