MANILA – Police and anti-narcotics agents seized 400 grams of shabu worth PHP2.7 million from a Nigerian national and his female cohort in a buy-bust operation in Makati City early Thursday.

Maj. Gen. Vicente Danao, chief of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), identified the suspects as Lucky Ugboaga, 38, and Rowena Brojas, 33, who were nabbed along Kalayaan Ave, in Barangay West Rembo at around 1:30 a.m.

Also seized from the suspects were a Toyota Altis vehicle, two mobile phones, and buy-bust money.

The recovered pieces of evidence from the buy-bust operations were turned over to the PNP Crime Laboratory for analysis.

"Higit sa dalawang milyong pisong halaga ng hinihinalang shabu ang ating nasabat mula sa mga suspects. Umasa po kayo na patuloy naming iimbestigahan ito at magkakaroon ng mga follow-up operations upang matunton natin ang kanilang mga kasabwat at sources (We have seized more than PHP2 million worth of suspected shabu from the suspects. Rest assured that we will continue to investigate and conduct follow-up operations so that we can track down their accomplices and sources)," said Danao.

The suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
