MANILA – Bishop-elect Noel Pedregosa will officially assume as the new bishop of Malaybalay, Bukidnon on September 14.

The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) news website reported that the 56-year-old monsignor will be ordained and installed as bishop in a Mass at 9 a.m. at the San Isidro Labrador Cathedral.

The schedule was announced during the last day of the bishops’ 122nd online plenary assembly on Friday.

Pedregosa is currently the Rector of the cathedral. He has also been serving as the administrator of the diocese, which has been vacant since August 2020.

He will be the fifth bishop Malaybalay, succeeding Jose Cabantan who was appointed by Pope Francis as the Archbishop of Cagayan de Oro last year.

Pedregosa’s appointment was announced by the Vatican on June 29.

The church event will be live streamed on the Facebook page of the diocese and the cathedral. (PNA)
