'Lannie' affects 21 villages in 2 regions

MANILA – Tropical Depression Lannie has so far affected 21 barangays in Mimaropa and Western Visayas, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said on Thursday.

In its update, the agency said around 1,701 families which are equivalent to 8,048 persons were affected by the weather disturbance.

Of this number, 55 families or 179 individuals are sheltering in seven evacuation centers while the rest have returned home or are sheltering with relatives or friends.

The NDRRMC added that it is still confirming reports of two deaths due to "Lannie".

Some 19 houses were damaged in Western Visayas due to bad weather, 16 of which were partially damaged while three were totally damaged, the NDRRMC added.

The damage to agriculture was placed at PHP12,225,109 in Western Visayas. (PNA)
