ZAMBOANGA CITY – At least 3,401 jobs are open to jobseekers in the incoming Labor Day job fair in this city, the Department of Labor and Employment in the Zamboanga Peninsula (DOLE-9) said Friday.

Dubbed 2022 Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan (TNK) Jobs and Business Fairs, the activity will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 1 at KCC Mall de Zamboanga.

Lawyer Roy Buenafe, DOLE-9 director, said that of the 3,401 vacancies, 2,558 are for local employment while the remaining 843 are for overseas work.

Buenafe said the job fair aims to match unemployed citizens with employment opportunities that are suitable to their qualifications.

A total of 25 employers are set to participate in the job fair.

“We released the list of vacancies in advance so that applicants may now have an idea of what to apply for and prepare themselves accordingly,” Buenafe said.

“It is also a blended activity wherein jobseekers are advised to register online through the website: www.dole9.org/virtualjobfair,” he added.

After registering online, the applicants must present a valid identification card and their mobile phone number in the registration area on the day of the job fair.

“Once verified, they will be admitted to the job fair area for an interview,” Buenafe said, adding that drop boxes will also be available for those who opt to submit hard copies of application documents.

The Labor Day job fair will also feature a one-stop-shop service by other government agencies to cater to clients’ inquiries and requests for assistance.

This year’s Labor Day is anchored on the theme “Matatag na Mangagawa, Matatag na Bansa”. (PNA)
