JBC schedules interviews for CA, CTA hopefuls

MANILA – The Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) on Thursday announced the schedule of public interviews for applicants to vacancies in the Court of Tax Appeals (CTA) and the Court of Appeals (CA).

In a notice, the JBC said interviews are scheduled on June 7, 13, 15, 20 and 21 for 24 hopefuls for the posts. Aside from the 24 to be interviewed, there are twelve other applicants who had already been interviewed by the JBC.

The interviews were for the position of two vacancies for Court of Appeals associate justice following the compulsory retirement of Associate Justices Gabriel Ingles last February 27 and Edgardo Camello last May 19.

The interviews will also be for applicants for associate justice in the Court of Tax Appeals which will have a vacancy when Associate Justice Juanito Castañeda Jr. reaches the mandatory retirement age on June 24.

Members of the public who may oppose candidates have until June 10 to submit a sworn complaint or report to the JBC. (PNA)
