MANILA – A total of 390 wanted persons were arrested during the simultaneous “one-time, big-time” (OTBT) operations in Metro Manila on Tuesday.

In a statement Wednesday, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Brig. Gen. Jonnel Estomo said the targets of the OTBT operations were wanted persons involved in illegal drugs, loose firearms, terrorism and heinous crimes, among others.

He said this is also part of the Philippine National Police's strategic plan for implementing the Philippine National Police (PNP)'s peace and security framework MKK=K which stands for 'Malasakit, Kaayusan, Kapayaan tungo sa Kaunlaran'.

He said the NCRPO dispatched a total of 1,501 tracker teams around Metro Manila to conduct police operations against wanted persons.

A total of 7,027 warrants of arrest were served, with 390 wanted persons being taken into custody and 6,637 remaining at large. This gain represented roughly 27.99 percent of the target 100 percent accomplishment against wanted persons.

"Based on our statistics, we have already achieved more than 27 percent of our target accomplishment in this one-time-big-time operations against wanted persons. We are still far from completing it to a 100 percent but nevertheless, we will continue to track down, search, and surveillance operations in an effort to arrest these wanted criminals who are on the run. We will not rest until we put the last wanted person behind bars and make them answer for the atrocities they committed," Estomo said. (PNA)
