CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – More than PHP3.45 million worth of illegal drugs were seized by authorities in weeklong operations in Central Luzon.

In his report on Monday, Brig. Gen. Jose S. Hidalgo Jr., chief of the Police Regional Office-Central Luzon (PRO-3), said 93 anti-illegal drug operations Oct. 2 to 8 resulted in the arrest of 130 drug suspects.

The biggest seizures were PHP489,600 and PHP408,000 worth of shabu, both in Magalang, this province on Oct. 7 and Oct. 2, respectively.
Aside from illegal drugs, he said the PRO-3 is also stepping up their campaign against wanted persons, illegal possession of firearms and illegal gambling activities.

Hidalgo said there were 132 arrested wanted individuals -- 21 most wanted and 111 others who committed various crimes like murder, rape and frustrated murder.

Likewise, at least 12 individuals were nabbed for illegal possession of firearms.

In election-related accomplishments, 20 gun ban violators were apprehended while 13 firearms were confiscated.

With regard to illegal gambling, Hidalgo said 144 persons were arrested which led to the confiscation of PHP325,066 in bets.

Meanwhile, the PRO3 boosted its operational capabilities with the acquisition of 34 new patrol units and three personnel carrier vehicles.

The vehicles were turned over to the police provincial offices of Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac, and Zambales, as well as the Regional Mobile Force Battalion in a ceremony Monday held at the PRO-3 parade grounds in Camp Captain Julian Olivas here.

"With this additional mobility, we anticipate achieving even more positive accomplishments in the days ahead. The public can expect PRO3 to respond more effectively to incidents, enhancing the delivery of our police services throughout the region,” Hidalgo said. (PNA)
