MANILA – F2 Logistics picked up its second straight win after beating Gerflor, 25-10, 25-16, 25-14, in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Second All-Filipino Conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City on Thursday.

Ara Galang had 11 points, including three blocks, as the Cargo Movers notched their fourth win in six outings to join the Cignal HD Spikers in sixth place.

“Of course, it’s a good boost for the team for the next game with the defending champions, but I told them that this is good preparation for the next game, and we cannot be complacent,” F2 Logistics head coach Regine Diego commented after the one hour and 27-minute match.

“Lastly, it is essential to respect the opponent, not just react based on who you're playing against. I told them that if they get too close to their opponents, it means they are not respecting them,” she added.

Banking on Jolina Dela Cruz, Jovelyn Fernandez and Marionne Angelique Alba, the Cargo Movers took a 21-7 lead in the third set.

“Against all teams, if we can create a significant lead in the score, not just against Gerflor but also against other teams, I want to see how others will perform because, of course, they are also part of the team,” Diego said.

Abigail Maraño scored 10 points, including two aces. Ivy Keith had 10 attacks while Dela Cruz added nine points.

Alba made 14 excellent sets, while Dawn Nicole Macandili and Victonara Galang delivered 12 and 11 digs, respectively for F2 Logistics, which will face reigning titlist Creamline on Nov. 14 (6 p.m.) at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Danika Yolanda Genrauli finished with nine attacks and two aces for Gerflor, which is currently under investigation due to the management’s mishandling of the team.

Menchie Tubiera contributed seven points while libero Pia Gabrielle Sarmiento produced 12 excellent digs and 12 receptions for the Defenders, who remained winless after six matches. (PNA)
