Metro rail lines extend operating hours until Dec. 23

MANILA – The three rail lines in Metro Manila -- the LRT-1, 2 and MRT-3, are expanding their operating hours from Dec. 20-23 amid the holiday rush.

Operating hours at the MRT-3, which runs along the stretch of EDSA, is extended to 10:30 p.m. from the original last trip schedule of 9:30 p.m. from North Avenue Station and 11:05 p.m. from 10:09 p.m. at Taft Avenue Station.

The last trip schedule from LRT-1 Baclaran Station is now 10:45 p.m. from 10 p.m. while Fernando Poe Jr. Station is 11 p.m. from 10:15 p.m.

At LRT-2, Antipolo Station's last trip schedule is extended to 10 p.m. from 9 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. from 9:30 p.m. at Recto Station.

"Sa pagpunta ng mga tao sa mga party, reunion at iba pang gathering, ating ipalasap ang Christmas spirit na pagbibigay ng kasiyahan sa pamamagitan ng komportable, ligtas, at maaasahan transportasyon sa mga tren (In celebration of Christmas, let us give our riders a comfortable, safe and efficient rail service as they attend parties and gatherings)," Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista said in a news release.
