MANILA -- A huge help has arrived for Stallion Laguna.

Head Coach Ernie Nierras will finally get to steer his club ahead of a huge Tuesday night Philippines Football League (PFL) showdown against Kaya Iloilo at the PFF National Training Centre in Carmona, Cavite.

Nierras, who on Monday just entered in the PFL bubble that would see the clubs travel back and forth from Seda Nuvali in Sta. Rosa City to the PFF National Training Centre during matchdays, was dearly missed when Stallion Laguna blew a 1-0 halftime lead and fell to Maharlika Manila on Saturday.

“Finally, I am inside the bubble with my boys,” said Nierras, who is also Stallion Laguna's president.

The 4:30 p.m. showdown between Stallion Laguna and Kaya Iloilo is a much-anticipated showdown as it pits preseason favorites.

In another marquee match-up at 8 p.m., Maharlika Manila looks to pick up from its breakthrough win as it battles defending champion United City.

Maharlika Manila coach Roxy Dorlas believes that if his club does an encore of its performance against Stallion Laguna, it may have a chance for another giant slaying.

“I think we saw in the last match that we can put together some good moments and opportunities if we work together,” said Dorlas.

On the other hand, United City looks to sustain its improving game after dropping six goals on Mendiola on Saturday night following a 1-0 opening night squeaker over the Azkals Development Team (ADT) on Wednesday.

“The team is adjusting well,” said United City interim coach Frank Muescan. “What’s good about the team is we have a lot of variety and versatility with our attack.”

The ADT and Mendiola will collide in the Wednesday curtain raiser at 9 a.m. as both sides are looking for their first full three points of the year. (PNA)
