MANILA – Typhoon Bising weakened and decelerated over the Philippine Sea, the weather bureau said on Thursday.

'Bising' now packs maximum sustained winds of 150 km. per hour (kph) near the center, and gustiness of up to 185 kph; moving northward at 10 kph.

It was last tracked 350 km. east of Calayan, Cagayan.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal no. 1 remains hoisted over Batanes, the eastern portion of Cagayan (Santa Ana, Gonzaga, Lal-Lo, Gattaran, Baggao, Peñablanca, Camalaniugan, Buguey, Aparri, Santa Teresita, Alcala, Amulung, Iguig, Tuguegarao City) including Babuyan Islands, and the northeastern portion of Isabela (San Pablo, Maconacon, Divilacan, Palanan).

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecasts rains with gusty winds over Batanes, the eastern portion of Cagayan including the Babuyan Islands, and the eastern portion of Isabela due to 'Bising'.

The typhoon will also cause scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Cagayan Valley, Ilocos Norte, Nueva Ecija, and Aurora.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.

Rough to high seas will be experienced over the northern and eastern seaboards of northern Luzon. Sea travel is risky for all types of seacraft.

Rough to very rough seas will still prevail over the seaboard of Aurora, the seaboards of extreme northern Quezon including the northern and eastern seaboards of Polillo Islands, and the northern seaboards of the Bicol Region. Sea travel is risky for small seacrafts.

Moderate to rough seas will be experienced over the eastern seaboard of Bicol Region, northern and eastern seaboards of Northern Samar, and the western seaboard of northern and central Luzon.

PAGASA advised mariners of small seacraft not to venture out over these waters. (PNA)
